The Secret Arts and the Art of Secrets:
Exploring the Relationship Between Art and Esotericism

The essays in this issue of The Wollesen were first presented as talks by graduate students participating in The Wollesen Memorial Graduate Symposium held on March 10, 2017 at Hart House on the campus of the University of Toronto. The symposium, entitled “The Secret Arts and the Art of Secrets,” provided a forum that investigated the relationship between Art and Esotericism in the context of visual culture from antiquity to the present.
